Yoo Dong-gyun was inaugurated Tuesday as Mapo-gu district chief for the ninth elected term.
In his inaugural address, Yoo said that if his seventh elected term was about planting seeds for change and growth in Mapo, the ninth term would be "a period of certain leap forward — one that brings those seeds into full bloom and yields abundant fruit." He added that he would return to the 360,000 residents of Mapo-gu "the warmth and care" he had received from them.
Yoo then said he was committed to building a Mapo where no one is left behind and everyone can thrive together.
