Seoul's Jung-gu district has issued 69.5 billion won ($45.5 million) in regular July property tax bills.
The total is up about 2.3 billion won from last year. The payment deadline is July 31, and taxpayers who miss it will face a 3 percent surcharge.
The tax applies to owners — as of June 1 — of housing, buildings, vessels and land. This month's bills cover half of the residential property tax along with levies on buildings and vessels; the remaining residential and land portions will be billed in September.
Payment is available both online and in person. Residents can use the Seoul Metropolitan Government's tax payment system (ETAX), the mobile tax app (STAX), or any major mobile payment app.
Bills can also be paid at any bank nationwide. Even without a bill in hand, taxpayers can look up and pay their local taxes at unmanned utility kiosks or ATMs using a bank account, cash card or credit card. Those who need a bill reissued can visit the district office's property tax division or the nearest community service center.
Residents who sign up for electronic bill delivery and automatic payment can receive a tax credit of 800 won each — up to 1,600 won per bill. Enrollment is available through ETAX, and automatic transfers can also be set up through internet banking or the internet giro website.

"I am grateful to residents who faithfully fulfill their tax obligations," district mayor Kim Gil-sung said. "We will do our utmost to ensure that every won in tax revenue is put to good use across education, welfare, culture and transportation, making Jung-gu an even better place to live."
