LG Electronics launches large-capacity commercial laundry line to boost global B2B push

LG Electronics announced Thursday the launch of LG Professional, a new line of large-capacity commercial laundry appliances, as part of its push to expand its global business-to-business operations.

The LG Professional lineup comprises six models: washers in 30-, 25- and 20-kilogram capacities; dryers in 30- and 25-kilogram capacities; and an all-in-one washer-dryer combo with a 25-kilogram wash capacity and 16-kilogram dry capacity.

LG Electronics will roll out the lineup in Europe this month, followed by sequential launches in Asia, North America and other major markets. Europe is a particular focus, as the region's well-developed tourism industry and aging population are driving growing demand for large-capacity commercial laundry equipment at hotels, hospitals and care facilities.

The global commercial laundry market is projected to reach approximately $10.8 billion by 2032, according to market research firm SkyQuest. LG Electronics has been building its commercial laundry business — supplying units under 20 kilograms — across South Korea, Asia, North America and the Middle East. The LG Professional launch is intended to strengthen its reach among B2B customers with large-capacity needs.

LG Professional uses AI Core Tech technology, which analyzes the weight of large laundry loads and adjusts water usage and drying conditions accordingly to reduce both time and electricity consumption.

The washers spin at up to 1,100 rpm during the final spin cycle, minimizing residual moisture after washing and shortening drying time. At 1,100 rpm, the drum rotates up to 1,100 times per minute, or about 18 times per second.

For stable operation, the machines incorporate a Dynamic Ball-Core System, which uses a gyro sensor to detect and automatically correct imbalances inside the drum, reducing vibration and noise during high-speed spinning. The system also helps reduce wear on components, lowering maintenance burdens over time.

The dryers and the all-in-one combo unit feature a dual inverter heat pump using a low-temperature dehumidification method. LG Professional includes what the company says is the industry's first heat-pump combo model and its largest-capacity dryer, making the lineup well suited to the European market's emphasis on energy efficiency. Heat pumps use heat generated during refrigerant circulation to remove moisture from laundry, consuming less electricity than conventional heater-based systems while reducing fabric damage.

LG Professional requires no exhaust duct for heat discharge, eliminating the need to drill holes in walls. This makes installation straightforward in older European buildings and leased commercial spaces where structural modifications are difficult.

Beyond product supply, LG Electronics offers an integrated B2B solution covering installation, operation, maintenance and management. A key component is LaundryCrew, a commercial laundry operations management platform that supports remote monitoring and control, error notifications and smart diagnostics.
