Hanjin said Thursday its consolidated sales reached 847.8 billion won ($555 million) in the second quarter, with operating profit coming in at 28.7 billion won.
Sales rose 14.4 percent from 740.8 billion won in the same period last year, driven by growth across its parcel delivery, logistics and global business segments.
Operating profit fell 22.4 percent year-on-year to 28.7 billion won, weighed down by external headwinds including volatility in cargo handling volumes amid global supply chain instability, upfront fixed costs from preemptive global infrastructure buildout, and intensifying e-commerce competition. Quarter-on-quarter, operating profit climbed 44.9 percent, signaling a recovery.
"We will pursue sustainable growth and profitability improvement through sound management amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty and increased market volatility," a Hanjin official said.
Meanwhile, Hanjin was selected last month as an operator for the "2026 Logistics Service Support Project for Small Businesses," a program run by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency's distribution arm.
Under the program, Hanjin will provide participating small-business owners with end-to-end logistics services — covering product intake, storage, packaging and delivery — around the clock through its "One-Click Fulfillment" system.
