Golfzon announced Thursday that Shin Dong-hoon, the company's chief information security officer, received a commendation from the Ministry of Science and ICT deputy prime minister at the 15th Information Security Day ceremony, held Wednesday at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, after being named an outstanding contributor to information security.
Information Security Day is a statutory commemorative day established by the government in 2012 to prevent cyberattacks and promote information security as part of everyday life. This year's ceremony was held under the slogan "A safe AI era — Korea leads the way." The Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Interior and Safety and the National Intelligence Service hosted the event, with the Korea Internet & Security Agency and the Korea Information Security Industry Association serving as organizers.
The government commendation for outstanding contributors to information security — which Shin received — is awarded by the Ministry of Science and ICT to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the field, which is closely tied to national security and the daily lives of citizens.
Shin strengthened Golfzon's internal security management framework by establishing a company-wide information security governance structure, raising the overall security level across the organization, building an AI-based security management system, and setting up a disaster recovery center to ensure service stability. He was also recognized for his contributions to the government's cloud platform security measures and AI security policy development.
"It is a great honor that our collective efforts to continuously innovate Golfzon's information security management system have been recognized with this meaningful government commendation," Shin said. "We will continue to apply the highest level of security to new AI-based services, doing our utmost to provide a global screen golf and platform environment where customers around the world can play with confidence."
