Lotte Home Shopping opens 101st 'Small Library' at Seoul children's center

Lotte Home Shopping announced Thursday that it opened Small Library No. 101 at the Seoul Metropolitan Children's Blue Center in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.

The opening ceremony, held Wednesday, was attended by Park Jae-hong, head of Lotte Home Shopping's strategic support division; Han Se-jong, secretary minister of the Salvation Army Korea Territory; Park Eun-ju, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Children's Blue Center; and Cho Jun-ho, chief executive of Angels Haven, among others. Lotte Home Shopping employees presented dream boxes filled with goods featuring the company's character Bellygom.

Small Library No. 101 was established at the Seoul Metropolitan Children's Blue Center, which was selected as a beneficiary through an employee vote. Lotte Home Shopping remodeled a classroom and rest area, and installed bookshelves and desks made from fabric panels upcycled from discarded banners.

Lotte Home Shopping has run its Small Library corporate social responsibility program in partnership with the Salvation Army Korea Territory since 2013, creating eco-friendly reading and study spaces. "We hope this becomes a cherished space where children can rediscover the comfort of everyday life and dream about their futures," Park Jae-hong said.
