E-mart announced Thursday it will hold a summer food campaign through Order to Home, its direct-from-farm delivery service.
The campaign runs through Wednesday and focuses on fresh seasonal produce in high demand during summer. Customers who pay in full with a promotional card are eligible for additional discounts. 'Daeseok plums' and "milky glutinous corn" are discounted 20 percent. "Domestic freshwater eel," a traditional stamina food for summer recovery, is offered at 10 percent off, while 'Geumhandon pork shoulder for boiled pork" is available at a 20 percent discount.
Order to Home has seen steady growth since its launch in April last year. The average monthly customer count in the first half of this year rose about 34 percent compared with the monthly average from April through December last year. Starting this month, customers can also browse products through E-mart's official Instagram account.
"Digital Grab" and "Wine Grab" — services that let customers order through the E-mart app and pick up at a store of their choice — have also gained traction. About 35 percent of Digital Grab users and about 50 percent of Wine Grab users made additional purchases while collecting their orders.
"We will combine E-mart's strong product lineup with the platform strength of the E-mart app, which has more than 3 million monthly active users, to deliver differentiated services," said Ryu Ye-na, head of E-mart's digital strategy team.
