CJ Logistics announced Thursday that it has deployed PackCheck — an AI-based overpackaging diagnostic solution developed by its TES Logistics Technology Research Institute — across 26 logistics centers nationwide.

PackCheck automates what had previously required manual judgment by simultaneously analyzing both the applicable standards and the exemption criteria under the overpackaging regulation. CJ Logistics has integrated product information from client companies stored at its fulfillment centers with PackCheck, enabling the system to instantly assess whether a product is overpackaged and recommend corrective measures such as switching box sizes or using paper cushioning. Workers follow the system's guidance to meet regulatory requirements while also improving productivity.

CJ Logistics had been building out eco-friendly packaging technology well before PackCheck was developed. Its box recommendation system, Lois O-Pack, uses a 3D simulation-based loading algorithm to optimize bundle packaging and reduce void space. The company has also developed a self-adhesive air-cap material that requires no separate tape, helping cut plastic tape consumption.
