JB Financial Group holds WE-UP Camp to build skills among youth supporters

JB Financial Group has launched an exchange program aimed at strengthening the self-reliance of young people, offering capacity-building education, mentoring and networking activities for youth participating in community child center programs and independent-living support projects.

JB Financial Group, in partnership with the Children and Future Foundation, a social welfare organization, held the WE-UP Camp at its Aureum Campus training center from July 1 to 3.

The camp brought together 57 youth supporters backed by Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank and JB Woori Capital. All participants are involved in JB Financial Group's learning and care support program for community child centers, as well as its independent-living support project for youth aging out of foster care.

Activities centered on team missions and group exercises designed to build collaboration and networking skills. An "Employee JOB Talk" session, run by volunteers from the group's in-house service corps known as the Ssiat Volunteer Corps, gave participants practical advice on career paths, job hunting and workplace life.

Expert lectures were also held on topics including interpersonal relationships, self-reliance and residential policy — featuring professor Jeong Il-young speaking on resilience, director Kim Ji-yun on nurturing close relationships, and CEO Yun In-han on independent living for young adults.

Cultural programs rounded out the camp, including a perfume-making wellness class and a live concert by the band Ondo, giving participants a chance to recharge and connect. JB Financial Group plans to expand a sustainable corporate social responsibility model that helps young people grow alongside their local communities.

Choi Jin-seok, executive vice president of JB Financial Group's external affairs division, said he hoped the camp would serve as "a forum for youth supporters to broaden their horizons," adding that the group would "continue to carry out diverse social contribution activities that support young people's independence."
