Actor Han Jung-su calls for complete dissolution of Korea Football Association

Actor Han Jung-su has called for the Korea Football Association to be dissolved.

On Thursday, Han wrote on his Instagram that "the Korea Football Association must be completely dissolved and rebuilt from the outset," adding that "all executives should be fired and the technical committee disbanded."

"Only by overhauling everything from the outset will Korean football change," he said.

Han had previously criticized then-head coach Hong Myung-bo after the South Korean national team was eliminated in the World Cup group stage, saying, "If you are a person of conscience, you should at least maintain a minimum of it," and "Since you said you were serving the country, if you have even a shred of conscience, let's return at least your salary."

He also took aim at Hong's in-game management, saying "there was no tactical vision whatsoever and the player selections were hard to understand," and that Hong "showed what the worst kind of coach looks like by blaming the players to the very end."

Hong held a press conference at the team's base camp in Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 29, announcing his resignation and taking responsibility for the team's failure to advance past the group stage. He drew public anger after footage emerged of him walking away from the podium — hands in his pockets — without taking questions.
