Singer Seo In-young's father revealed as food factory CEO — 'Won't leave it to my daughters'

Singer Seo In-young's father has been revealed as the CEO of a food factory.

A video titled "Seo In-young's biological father's sausage factory — first look" was posted Wednesday on the YouTube channel "Gaegwacheoonseon Seo In-young."

The video showed Seo spending a day working at the food factory her father runs.

Her father operates a meat-processing factory and a tortilla factory that produce sausages, tortillas, kebabs and other products.

Seo helped out by taking part in the entire tortilla production process, from manufacturing through to packaging. Though she made repeated mistakes and ruined several products along the way, her father was proud of her and paid her a day's wage of 100,000 won ($66).

After the factory visit, the production crew asked whether he planned to pass the business on to his two daughters. "Neither of them," he said flatly, drawing laughter.

"I've already given them their inheritance — my faith," he said. "There's no better inheritance than that. Leaving money as an inheritance does harm to your children."

Also drawing attention was the factory's family-run structure: Seo's mother handles the finances, while her maternal uncles manage day-to-day production.

Seo debuted in 2002 as a member of the girl group Jewelry. She married a non-celebrity businessman in 2023 but the two divorced by mutual agreement in November the following year. Last month, she announced plans to remarry in the second half of this year — to a businessman six years her senior — and received wide congratulations.
