Jordan activated air raid sirens after Iranian missiles crossed its airspace Thursday, as armed conflict between the United States and Iran resumed despite a memorandum of understanding on ending the war.
According to Jordan's state news agency, the missiles, fired from Iran, entered Jordanian airspace Thursday local time, triggering nationwide air raid alerts.
Mohammad Momani, Jordan's minister of information and government spokesperson, said the country "immediately intercepted the missiles in response to the threat."
State media said eight missiles were intercepted in total and that the attack caused no casualties or property damage. The missiles are believed to have been targeting a US military base in Jordan.
