Ottogi Ramyun to build export production factory at Gumi industrial complex with W200b investment

Ottogi Ramyun signed an investment MOU with North Gyeongsang Province and the city of Gumi on Monday to establish a ramyun production facility dedicated to exports.

The MOU aims to build an export production base in response to the rising global popularity of K-ramyun and Korean food. Ottogi Ramyun will invest 200 billion won ($133 million) to construct a new factory within the Gumi Second National Industrial Complex by 2029. The project is expected to create 120 new jobs.

Ottogi Ramyun is a ramyun-focused affiliate of Ottogi that produces a range of products, including the flagship Jin Ramyun brand. Ottogi products are currently exported to more than 70 countries. The MOU also covers mutual cooperation in food technology, including the expansion of smart manufacturing, export-oriented manufacturing innovation, standardization of manufacturing data and improvements to related regulations.

"This will go beyond simply expanding production capacity — it will be an opportunity to strengthen our global export capabilities and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth," Ottogi Ramyun CEO Lee Sin-hyeok said. "We will also strive to make a meaningful contribution to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs."
