Gangnam-gu, led by District Mayor Kim Hyeon-gi, has organized a special event to reinforce integrity among its civil servants and promote a fair organizational culture as the 9th elected administration gets under way.
The district is holding a four-session anti-corruption and integrity education program — "Dudeurim Integrity Concert with Nanta" — for all staff at the main auditorium of the Gangnam District Community Center on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The sessions are led by Park Jun-hui, a specialist instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. The curriculum connects key laws — including the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Act on Prevention of Conflicts of Interest, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and the Public Interest Whistleblower Protection Act — to real situations employees may encounter on the job. The program is designed to make the core content and practical applications of each law easy to understand, with a particular focus on real-world case studies.
Moving beyond conventional lecture-style instruction, the program incorporates a live cultural performance by Nanta specialist troupe Hwaryeo to boost staff engagement. By blending Nanta percussion performance with the curriculum, organizers aim to deliver the key messages of anti-corruption and integrity laws in a more accessible and dynamic way.
The district said it intends to use the program as a springboard for embedding integrity as a foundational principle of how the organization operates, on the belief that public trust in the administration grows when laws and principles are upheld on the ground.
"Integrity is not the responsibility of a few departments or certain officials — it is the most fundamental value that every public servant must practice together," District Mayor Kim said. "Going forward, we will build an organizational culture where integrity becomes part of daily life through a variety of programs that staff can relate to and participate in, and we will make Gangnam-gu an integrity leader trusted by its residents."
