Vuwoks, an imaging solutions company led by CEO Kim Hu-sik, announced Tuesday it has begun supplying a new lineup of golf launch monitors to NVisage Technologies, a US-based golf imaging brand, marking its first step into the global launch monitor market.
Over more than a decade, the company has developed X-ray detectors for medical and industrial use, industrial cameras, sensors for golf simulators and biotech diagnostic equipment. It now plans to expand its accumulated machine-vision imaging technology across the broader golf industry.
Through this new venture, Vuwoks developed a line of golf launch monitors capable of serving a range of environments — outdoor courses, driving ranges, indoor practice facilities and screen golf venues — and brought them to market globally through NVisage Technologies.
A golf launch monitor uses sensors to detect the movement of the ball and club, analyzing data points such as launch angle, direction, ball speed, spin and carry distance. The devices have drawn growing attention as essential equipment in the global golf market, driven by rising demand for data-based instruction and training.
Among the four new models, the flagship outdoor unit NEO-E uses dedicated software to analyze five ball-data parameters, eight club-data parameters and 10 trajectory-data parameters in real time, delivering results within 0.5 seconds of impact. It also renders club data — including face angle and club path — visually alongside ball data, allowing users to understand their swing mechanics more intuitively.
According to the company, the products are already in use during lessons and training sessions by golf professionals including Amy Jo, a YouTube instructor with around 470,000 subscribers, KPGA tour player Jeon Jae-han and KLPGA tour player Han A-reum.
"We have taken our first step into the global golf market by beginning supply of the NVisage lineup, starting with the Americas," a Vuwoks official said. "We plan to grow two pillars — a B2B screen golf business and an all-in-one golf launch monitor business equipped with analytical software — to prove the competitiveness of Korean technology in the global golf imaging market."
