Uiseong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Tuesday that it will launch a weekly open-door program called "Residents' Day" to hear residents' concerns and suggestions directly as the county enters its ninth elected administration.
The program, titled "Knock! Knock! Knock! County Chief!" in Korean, will be held every Wednesday at the county chief's office in Uiseong-gun Hall, beginning Wednesday.
Any Uiseong-gun resident may apply. Applications must be submitted in advance, either in person at a township or village office or through the county's official website. Once a request is received, staff will coordinate a date and time and notify the applicant individually.
"I will meet residents directly, listen to them and strengthen communication and empathy with the public," county chief Choi Yu-cheol said. "Building on that, I will work to reflect residents' voices in county administration and create a prosperous Uiseong where people are happy."
