Daegu's Dalseo-gu district won the grand prize at the 6th Korea Camping Expo, held at EXCO, the district announced Tuesday.
The Korea Camping Expo is an annual event that connects camping with regional tourism, offering information on the industry while showcasing outstanding tourism resources from local governments and related businesses across the country.
This year's expo drew more than 120 participants — including local governments and industry companies from across the country — and featured over 530 booths.
Dalseo-gu set up a promotional booth using a mobile tourism information vehicle and introduced distinctive local attractions, including Dalseo Eco-Tourism and Dalseo Starlight Camp, drawing a strong response from visitors.
The district's eco-tourism photo zone and a subscription event secured more than 770 new followers, laying the groundwork for sustained tourism promotion. Family-oriented programs — a claw machine game, a prehistoric clothing experience and a bracelet-making activity — also added to the lively atmosphere.
"We will continue developing content that is both fun and informative to spread the word about Dalseo-gu's appeal and make it a city that draws many tourists," said Dalseo-gu District Chief Kim Yong-pan.
