Trump threatens to strike Iran's power plants, bridges if no deal reached next week

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he would strike Iran's power plants and bridges if the two sides fail to reach a deal to end the war by next week.

Speaking in a Fox News interview that day, Trump warned that Iran faces dire consequences if negotiations stall. "Next week is going to be really bad for them, because next week the power plants are going to be" targeted, he said, adding that bridges would also be on the list. Reuters and AFP reported his remarks.

Trump said US and Iranian delegations had been in contact that day, but warned that if Tehran refuses to come to the table, "we're going to knock out all of their power plants. We're going to knock out all of their bridges."

Trump has repeatedly threatened to target power plants and bridges in the course of the conflict with Iran, though none of those warnings have yet resulted in large-scale airstrikes.

On the airstrikes that have continued for a fourth consecutive day against Iran, Trump said they would go on "until I say that's enough."
