Woongjin Group Chairman Yoon Suk-keum has published a new book drawing on 46 years of business experience.
According to Woongjin Group on Wednesday, the book — titled "If You Say These Things Often, It's a Sign You'll Become Wealthy" — starts from the practical question of how money comes to people, and explores the words, attitudes and mindset of those who attract financial success.
The book draws on Yoon's own experiences building businesses in publishing, education, cosmetics and home appliance rentals, a journey that began when he started his career as an encyclopedia salesman at age 27.
The book is divided into three parts: "How to Change Yourself," covering positive language and human relationships; "How to Work," which reveals the secrets of top salespeople and traces the origins of the home appliance rental business; and "How to Build the Future," which examines Woongjin Group's growth and leadership in the AI era. Yoon wrote the book to lay out the essence of success in plain, accessible terms for a younger generation eager for financial achievement but anxious about the future.
"If you often speak positively, it is a sign that you will become wealthy," Yoon writes. "I must change myself before I can change the environment and world around me, and happiness and success come only when I find joy first." He also said, "Whether my life becomes happy or unhappy in the face of countless hardships depends on my own perspective and attitude — how positively I choose to see the world."
The new title is Yoon's fifth book and his first in two years, following his previous work "The Power of Words."
Meanwhile, Woongjin Group recently rejoined the list of large business groups subject to public disclosure requirements designated by the Korea Fair Trade Commission — for the first time in 12 years — after its total assets surpassed 5 trillion won ($3.32 billion) following the acquisition of funeral services company Preedlife. Woongjin had entered court receivership in 2012 amid a liquidity crisis and began dismantling the group, but has since staged a comeback through the sale of key affiliates, business restructuring and the Preedlife acquisition.
