Starbucks Korea launched the "Red Bean Matcha Coco Frappuccino" on Monday and announced the start of its new summer promotions.
The Coco Frappuccino line features iced beverages made with coconut, whose rich yet refreshing flavor has proven popular in combination with matcha, coffee and fruit.
The flagship Coco Frappuccino is the "Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino," first introduced in 2024. Nicknamed "Jamangko," the drink surpassed cumulative sales of 6.7 million cups last year and has held the top spot in the Frappuccino category. The "Pineapple Blue Coco Frappuccino," launched last month, ranks second.
The new Red Bean Matcha Coco Frappuccino combines sweet red bean paste, organic Jeju matcha and pearl toppings, with a coconut base adding a distinctive twist to the classic matcha-and-red-bean pairing. Also debuting are the Apricot Joyful Medley Shaken Tea, Pink Peach Coconut Refresher and Coco Cold Brew.
To mark its 27th anniversary, Starbucks Korea is offering a book bag featuring an illustration of its Ewha store to customers who spend 25,000 won ($17) or more — including manufactured beverages — at any store from Monday while supplies last. In the weeks that follow, the chain will give away Bearista miniature keyrings, Bearista name tags and mesh mini-bag keyrings. Through Sunday, all 31 summer season merchandise items will be sold at a 20 percent discount at every store.
"We have prepared an iced beverage lineup ranging from Frappuccinos to Cold Brew to help beat the summer heat," said Choi Hyeon-jeong, Starbucks Korea's head of food and beverage development. "We will continue developing menus that reflect global trends and customer preferences."
Meanwhile, Starbucks is offering two "Summer Coupon" types to all Rewards members. Existing members received their coupons through the app on July 8. New members who sign up by Friday will receive their coupons the following day. The coupons are valid through Aug. 14.
