Gwangjin-gu announced Monday it will run a short-form content training program for local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, aimed at expanding their online sales channels and building skills in product promotion through short-form video.
The district has continued rolling out support policies for small businesses, including issuing 1 billion won ($682,000) worth of "Gwangjin Ddaenggyeoyo" delivery-only gift certificates this month to ease commission burdens on merchants.
The training program was developed in response to growing interest among small business owners in short-form content, which has become a key tool for product promotion and online marketing as the digital consumer market expands.
The program will run every Wednesday from Aug. 5 to Aug. 26 at the Gwangjin Economic Hub Center, open to 40 small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the district. Participants will gain hands-on experience across the full production process — planning, filming, editing and publishing short-form promotional videos for platforms including YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
Both the first- and second-half sessions last year drew more applicants than available spots, and the program recorded a satisfaction rate of 95 percent.
"We will continue to expand practical education and support projects so that small business owners can respond effectively to a changing market environment," district mayor Kim Gyeong-ho said.
