Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu said the Eunpyeong Senior Club and the Korea Senior Citizens Association's Eunpyeong chapter were named outstanding agencies in the 2026 National Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Project Performance Evaluation.
The evaluation, jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Employment Agency for the Elderly, assessed the operational performance of senior employment and social activity support agencies nationwide to select top performers.
The Korea Senior Citizens Association's Eunpyeong chapter received the top award for the second consecutive year, earning its fifth straight recognition as an outstanding agency. The Eunpyeong Senior Club was named the top agency in the single-category senior capacity utilization program, extending its consecutive award streak to 13 years.
As a result of the selections, the Korea Senior Citizens Association's Eunpyeong chapter received prize money of 13 million won ($8,870), while the Eunpyeong Senior Club received 5 million won.
This year, Eunpyeong-gu is providing jobs to 6,114 senior residents through 12 implementing agencies and 99 project teams, supporting an active retirement lifestyle through income supplementation and expanded social participation.
"This achievement is a precious result created together by the senior employment agencies and the participating seniors," district mayor Kim Mi-kyung said. "We will continue to expand stable and diverse senior employment opportunities, strengthen cooperation with implementing agencies, and actively support our seniors in leading healthy and vibrant lives in retirement."
