130 evacuated after fire breaks out in 4-story Seoul commercial building

About 130 people evacuated after a fire broke out at a commercial building in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, on Sunday.

The blaze started at around 3:23 p.m. at a four-story commercial building in the neighborhood. All 130 people evacuated on their own, and no injuries were reported.

Some 90 firefighters and 25 pieces of equipment were deployed to the scene, extinguishing the fire at around 4:06 p.m. — roughly 40 minutes after it broke out.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
