Aekyung Industrial donates W300m care packages to domestic violence shelters

Aekyung Industrial said it delivered care packages worth 300 million won ($211,000) to the Korea Association of Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence at the Community Chest of Korea hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Aug. 7, marking Domestic Violence Prevention Day.

The company, together with Dasarang Community, assembled 1,200 sets of daily necessities and cosmetics for the packages. The sets are to be distributed Wednesday to 63 domestic violence shelters across eight regions nationwide.

The handover ceremony was attended by Kim Jeong-pil, head of the sustainability management division at Aekyung Industrial, Kim Gyeong-hui, director at the Community Chest of Korea, Sung Jae-ho, head of Dasarang Community, and Kim Ok-gi, standing representative of the Korea Association of Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence.

"We prepared this support with the hope that it will offer even a small measure of strength to victims working to rebuild their daily lives after experiencing domestic violence," Kim Jeong-pil said. "We will continue our corporate social responsibility activities to provide meaningful, practical help to those in need."
