A rare sight unfolded in Chilgok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, on Sunday, as a rainbow and a crimson sunset appeared together in the same sky. The rainbow emerged over the Waegwan Iron Bridge — also known as the Hoguk Bridge — following rainfall brought by the indirect influence of Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th named storm of the season. The arc stretched across the sky between dark, blue-tinged storm clouds and a glowing red sunset, creating a striking scene. The sunset's glow spread across the surface of the Nakdong River, adding to the spectacle. Park Jong-seok, head of the Chilgok-gun public relations team, said the Waegwan Iron Bridge is a historically significant site where part of the structure was destroyed during the Korean War, and that it is now a nationally registered cultural heritage site known as the "Hoguk Bridge," or Bridge of National Defense.
