Busan education chief visits students 100 days before college entrance exam

Busan Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun visited Daeyeon High School in Nam-gu on Tuesday, 100 days before the 2027 College Scholastic Ability Test, to encourage students and faculty preparing for the exam.

Kim visited a third-year classroom at the school to cheer on students who have kept up their studies despite an unprecedented heat wave and the pressures of college admissions.

"College admissions are not everything in life, but there is no doubt that they are a very important and precious gateway through which you overcome your own limits and move toward the future," Kim said. "You have quietly done your best through the heat waves and tropical nights, so I hope you spend the remaining days consolidating what you have built and that everyone achieves results they can be proud of."

He also urged students to pay close attention to managing their stamina and health. "You can only do well on the exam if you stay healthy," he said.

Kim also expressed gratitude to the school's faculty. "I am deeply grateful for the hard work of teachers who, even in the sweltering heat, have devoted themselves to guiding students in their college preparation and keeping them safe," he said. "Please continue to be a steady pillar of support for your students until the very end."

Daeyeon High School, founded in 1988, currently enrolls 369 students across 20 classes.
