Samsung Electronics completes Flakt Group HVAC production line in Pune, India

Samsung Electronics has completed a new HVAC production line for Flakt Group in India.

The company held an opening ceremony for the new facility in Pune, Maharashtra, on Wednesday (local time).

The event drew about 100 attendees, including Kim Cheol-gi, head of Samsung Electronics' Device Appliances Division and executive vice president, Flakt Group CEO David Doherty, and representatives from key business partners.

The new production facility spans 13,827 square meters, encompassing production lines, offices and ancillary facilities. Construction and equipment installation began at the start of the year, and the site reached mass-production readiness in roughly six months. At full capacity, the facility can produce up to 6,500 HVAC units per year.

The Pune production line will manufacture a range of HVAC equipment, including Flakt Group's flagship air handling units (AHUs), fan wall units (FWUs) and computer room air handlers (CRAHs).

AHUs use chilled water to cool air inside data centers and large commercial buildings while maintaining air quality. FWUs are wall-mounted air circulation units, and CRAHs are high-precision air conditioning devices; both help keep IT equipment in server rooms operating under optimal conditions.

Pune is a fast-growing hub for data center and industrial infrastructure in India, and its proximity to the port of Mumbai makes it a strategically advantageous location for supply chain efficiency.

Together with Samsung's existing production facility in Noida, the Pune site is expected to play a central role in delivering HVAC equipment more quickly to customers across India and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

"The completion of this production line in Pune, India, marks an important milestone in expanding our HVAC supply beyond India to the Asia-Pacific region," Kim said. "By combining Samsung's AI and platform technology with Flakt Group's HVAC capabilities, we will deliver the best possible value to customers across AI data centers and beyond."
