LS Electric secures CSA accredited laboratory status in Canada

LS Electric said Thursday it has secured accredited laboratory status required for product certification in the North American market.

The company's Power Test & Technology center, known as PT&T, obtained Witnessed Manufacturer's Test Laboratory accreditation from the Canadian Standards Association. The CSA is a privately run National Recognized Testing Laboratory designated by the US government. The accreditation allows PT&T to conduct product standards tests directly under CSA supervision and obtain certification.

With the new accreditation, LS Electric plans to accelerate its push into the North American market, which is emerging as a hub for power infrastructure investment. The United States and Canada impose strict product certification requirements, making compliance with local standards a key factor in winning contracts. "By conducting standards tests directly at PT&T, we can now manage the certification process more quickly and reliably," the company said.

PT&T is South Korea's only privately operated power testing laboratory, with capabilities spanning low- to ultra-high-voltage equipment. Its strength lies in linking product development from the earliest stages through testing, certification and quality verification. Through PT&T, LS Electric plans to incorporate North American standards requirements early in the development process, shorten certification lead times and improve responsiveness to local customers.
