Seoul's Geumcheon-gu announced Thursday it will hold "Hero, the Cry of That Day," a musical performance prepared by a youth troupe to mark the 81st Liberation Day.
The show will take place Saturday at the event hall of Hyundai City Outlet's Gasan branch, featuring 15 young actors who have trained at the Geumcheon Musical Center. The program centers on highlight songs from the musical "Hero," which depicts the life and independence movement spirit of Ahn Jung-geun.
Three performances are scheduled Saturday at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., each running about 15 minutes. No advance registration is required and admission is open to all.
On Monday, Geumcheon-gu held an 81st Liberation Day commemoration ceremony at the main auditorium on the 12th floor of the district office. About 120 people attended, including the Seoul branch chief of the Korean Liberation Association, chapter heads from 18 Seoul autonomous districts, bereaved families of independence merit holders and members of veterans' organizations.
