Dalseo-gu in Daegu announced Monday that it has received certification for the third consecutive cycle in the "2026 Lifelong Learning City Evaluation and Certification" program, administered by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.
First designated a lifelong learning city in 2005, Dalseo-gu has now secured recertification for a third straight cycle — following previous certifications in 2020 and 2023 — extending its status through 2029.
The district received high marks in this cycle's evaluation for expanding its dedicated lifelong learning organization and increasing specialist staff, diversifying funding sources through competitive grant projects, and strengthening residents' access to learning by opening the Dalseo Lifelong Learning Center as a hub facility.
"This third consecutive certification is a valuable achievement built on the lifelong learning infrastructure Dalseo-gu has developed over the years and the active participation of our residents," Dalseo-gu Mayor Kim Yong-pan said. "We will continue to build Dalseo into a lifelong learning city where every resident can enjoy the joy of learning anytime, anywhere."
