Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul will host the 2026 Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival at Jangan 1 Waterfront Park on Aug. 28-29, the district announced. The event is organized by the Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation under District Mayor Choi Dong-min.
Now in its third year, the festival is built around the slogan "Value of Together," reflecting core principles of inclusivity, loose solidarity and the diverse character of Dongdaemun. Organizers say the aim is a sustainable festival where people of different generations and cultural backgrounds can come together.
The most visible change this year is scale. The festival grounds have been dramatically expanded, and the number of participating craft breweries and food trucks has roughly doubled compared to last year.
A new QR-code ordering system for food trucks will allow visitors to place orders without waiting in line. Large-format beer sales and a range of hands-on programs have also been added to appeal to families, friend groups and couples.
Corporate sponsors have joined in to enrich the lineup. Maxim T.O.P and Condition are the main sponsors, each offering visitors special perks. Maxim T.O.P will provide two varieties of barrel-aged coffee that replicate the deep flavor of whiskey oak casks, while Condition will supply its squeeze-pack hangover remedy, Condition Stick, making for a safer and more varied summer night out.
Several programs put the festival's "Value of Together" theme into practice. Immigrant residents and international students living in the district will run promotional booths, creating a space for global cultural exchange.
Elsewhere on the festival grounds, a small-donation project run in partnership with Phoenix Darts will let visitors play dart games while contributing to a fund for local artists. All proceeds will go toward supporting the sustainable creative work of artists in the district.
"The 'Value of Together' at the heart of this festival means more than simply gathering to have fun — it carries the meaningful purpose of understanding one another and building the district's culture side by side," District Mayor Choi said. "With a venue twice as large as last year and richer content, I hope residents and visitors from home and abroad alike will create unforgettable summer night memories along the urban waterfront."
Full program details for the 2026 Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival — where the scenic Jungnangcheon waterfront will be paired with live music and food — will be released in stages on the Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation's website and official social media channels.
