The National Health Insurance Service announced Wednesday that its mobile app now supports health insurance appeal filings.
The health insurance appeal system is a rights-protection regime that allows individuals to request a review of the appropriateness of a ruling made by the service. Appeals can be filed for matters related to national health insurance administration and pension premium collection.
Previously, filing an appeal — including formal review requests — required visiting a local NHIS branch, submitting documents by mail or fax, or using the NHIS website. The new service allows any individual who can complete identity verification to file an appeal directly through the NHIS mobile app.
Through the app, users can submit their appeal, upload supporting documents, and track the progress and outcome of their case in real time.
"The introduction of mobile appeal filing allows people to access rights-protection administrative services conveniently in their daily lives, whether online or offline," an NHIS official said. "We will continuously monitor the system to prevent errors before they occur and do our best to ensure the mobile appeal service operates stably."
