Change in public administration begins with the actions of officials who know the field best.
Seodaemun-gu has announced its resolve to lead administrative change that residents can feel firsthand, with senior officials taking the initiative on proactive governance and integrity.
Seodaemun-gu, led by District Mayor Park Woon-ki, held a "Senior Officials' Pledge for Proactive Administration and Anti-Corruption Integrity — Starting from the Top" ceremony Tuesday in the district mayor's conference room, aimed at driving transparent and active policy implementation.
District Mayor Park, Deputy District Mayor Kang Ok-hyeon, and the directors of the Administrative Affairs, Planning and Fiscal Affairs, Education, Culture and Sports, Smart Environment and Lifestyle, Welfare, Urban Renewal, and Safety and Construction departments, as well as the head of the public health center, attended the ceremony, carefully reading and signing the pledge.
The pledge covered four commitments: reforming unreasonable regulations and practicing proactive administration; eliminating passive governance and delivering active administration that residents can feel; prohibiting any pursuit of private gain; and maintaining vigilance against corruption while fostering a culture of integrity in public service.
"To usher in a golden era of Seodaemun that satisfies our residents, senior officials will lead by example with field-centered, proactive administration and make anti-corruption integrity a daily practice," Park said.
