Jungnang-gu is accepting applications for its second Jungnang Care Master course, a professional development program for long-term care workers, from Monday through Friday this week.
The program is designed to strengthen the practical skills of long-term care workers while helping them recover from the psychological and physical demands of the job.
Up to 70 long-term care workers affiliated with long-term care facilities in Jungnang-gu are eligible to apply, including care assistants, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, physical therapists and occupational therapists.
Classes will run from Sept. 1 through Nov. 3, every Tuesday from 6:10 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Planning Situation Room on the fourth floor of the Jungnang-gu District Office. The curriculum combines job-specific training tailored to real-world care settings with wellness sessions aimed at helping workers restore their mental and physical well-being.
Interested workers may apply by submitting the application form via email between Monday and Friday. For further details, contact the Jungnang-gu District Office's Senior Welfare Division.
The inaugural course ran for eight sessions with 51 care assistants enrolled, and 49 completed the program. A satisfaction survey found that 90.5 percent of participants said they were satisfied overall. Building on those results, the program was recognized as an outstanding example of proactive public administration for the first half of 2025.
"Long-term care workers play a vital role in looking after the daily lives of elderly residents up close," District Mayor Ryu said. "I hope this training will sharpen their on-the-ground skills and also help them recharge mentally and physically."
