LG Electronics wins 17 awards at IDEA 2026, sweeping world's top 3 design prizes

LG Electronics said Friday it won 17 awards at IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) 2026, an international design competition organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America.

IDEA ranks among the world's three major design awards alongside the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award. LG Electronics had earlier taken 55 awards combined at those two competitions this year, and the latest haul again demonstrates the company's design competitiveness.

IDEA evaluates entries each year on design innovation, improvements to user experience and commercial viability, selecting winners across 20 categories including Home, Consumer Technology, Commercial & Industrial Products and Packaging.

Five products earned Bronze awards this year in recognition of their differentiated design: the LG Signature OLED W, a wireless wallpaper TV under 10 millimeters thin; three indoor units of the LG Therma V air-source heat pump, designed to blend with interior spaces; the LG UltraFine Evo, an ultra-high-resolution professional monitor with a four-sided slim bezel; the LG Smart Monitor Swing, featuring a flexible stand that lets users adjust the screen freely; and the LG PuriCare AeroMini air purifier, designed to fit comfortably in compact spaces.

An additional 12 products were named Finalists, including the LG CLOi'd home robot, which interacts with users through various facial expressions in response to voice commands and gestures while assisting with household tasks; the LG PuriCare System air purifier, a ceiling-mounted unit designed to maximize space efficiency; and the LG gram Pro, an ultra-lightweight laptop built with Aeronium, a new material developed for the aerospace and aviation industry.

Notably, the CLOi'd, Signature OLED W, three Therma V indoor units, PuriCare System air purifier, gram Pro and XBoom Mini & Stage 501 swept all three major competitions this year — IDEA, the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award — earning triple crown status.
