A man in his 40s who assaulted a noraebang owner and a hostess before stealing cash and fleeing has been arrested, police said Friday.
The Pocheon Police Station took the man, identified only by his surname initial A, into emergency custody on robbery charges and is investigating the case.
A is accused of assaulting a female noraebang owner in her 70s, identified as B, and a hostess at a noraebang in Sinup-dong, Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, on Thursday afternoon, then stealing 20,000 won ($14) in cash before fleeing.
During the incident, A smashed a glass bottle and caused a disturbance. B sustained bruises from the assault.
Officers who responded to a report found and apprehended A near the noraebang.
Police are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the crime.
