G-Dragon says he can't do mobile banking: 'I have a wealth manager'

G-Dragon, born Kwon Ji-yong and the leader of K-pop group BigBang, has admitted that he does not use mobile banking.

The admission came Saturday, when BigBang members G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung appeared as guests on "Pingyego," a variety segment on the YouTube channel "Tteundteun."

During the episode, host Yoo Jae-suk remarked that fellow entertainer HaHa had once been among the earliest adopters of new trends, but now struggled with self-service kiosks.

HaHa then asked Yoo whether he handled banking on his phone, and Yoo said he did — at which point G-Dragon said he could not. When Yoo pressed him, asking what he did with all his wealth if he could not manage his own banking, G-Dragon replied, "There's someone who manages it for me." Yoo told him he still needed to keep tabs on things himself.

G-Dragon clarified that he could handle banking matters by visiting a branch in person, but said he was completely unable to use mobile banking.

Daesung said he had managed his own finances since he was young, while Taeyang noted that Daesung had handled everything himself almost from the start of his career. "For me, it was two or three years after our debut that I thought I needed to understand this stuff," Taeyang said.

Meanwhile, BigBang, marking its 20th anniversary, recently released a new single "BiiiG" and has been performing its world tour at Goyang Stadium since Friday.
