Jungnang-gu (district mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will hold its 2026 community assemblies across all 16 dong in the district from Saturday through Sept. 19.
The community assembly is a forum for resident self-governance where locals review key neighborhood issues and directly decide which projects their community needs.
This year, residents will review the details of 68 neighborhood projects identified by each dong's resident self-governance council and cast their votes on-site to determine which projects move forward. The process aims to gather a wide range of resident input and collectively chart the direction of local development.
As it did last year, the district is continuing its eco-friendly assembly operations by again pursuing a "zero-single-use festival" initiative. The assemblies will work to reduce disposable vinyl bags and plastic containers while encouraging residents to bring reusable items such as tumblers.
"The community assembly is a precious occasion where residents, as the true owners of their neighborhood, directly decide what projects their community needs," district mayor Ryu said. "I hope many residents will take an interest and participate so we can build the future of our community together."
The assemblies will proceed according to each dong's individual schedule. Detailed schedules and venues are available on the website of each dong's community service center.
