Guro-gu will begin accepting registrations Wednesday for the inaugural "Guro G Valley After-Work Fest" walking event, set for Oct. 1, district mayor Jang In-hong announced.
The "G Valley After-Work Fest" is a cultural event where G Valley business owners, office workers and local residents can walk together and enjoy live performances and food. Making its debut this year, the event reimagines the district's former Necktie Marathon as a combined walking and cultural program.
The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 1 in the plaza area in front of G Tower and the Daeryung Post 8 building. From 3 p.m., participants will walk an approximately 2-kilometer course connecting the G Valley Olle Trail and a newly planted street-forest section over about two hours, followed by a beer festival, live performances and other programs.
The walking event is open to all Guro-gu business owners, workers and residents.
Participants may register as individuals, as companies (five or more people) or as groups (10 or more). Online registration through Google Forms is open Wednesday through Sept. 14, on a first-come, first-served basis.
All participants will receive a 2,000-won discount voucher redeemable at local shops inside the venue. Corporate and group registrants will receive priority seating at group tables at the beer festival, along with group raffle tickets, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The beer festival following the walk will offer a variety of craft beers and food. The stage lineup includes busking acts, singer performances and a pop-up noraebang booth, alongside hands-on experience programs and a flea market.
"We have created a space where office workers and residents in G Valley can naturally come together by walking and having fun," district mayor Jang said. "We hope many people will join this autumn's first 'After-Work Fest' and discover the new charm of G Valley together."
