Kumho Tire-equipped cars sweep podium at O-NE Super Race Championship Round 5

Kumho Tire announced Monday that its sponsored teams swept the podium in Round 5 of the 2026 O-NE Super Race Championship's Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 class, held Saturday at Everland Speedway in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The Kumho SL Motorsports Team, Junpitted Racing Team, Chances Racing by NH Investment & Securities Team and Waterq Elaine Racing Team all took part in the dramatic come-from-behind victory.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 class, in which Kumho Tire competes, is the top tier of the O-NE Super Race Championship and is regarded as the premier stock car racing competition in South Korea. Its high-speed, high-power racing has drawn strong interest from motorsport fans each season with intense, action-packed contests.

In Saturday's Round 5, Hwang Jin-woo of Junpitted Racing Team finished first, Lee Chang-wook of Kumho SL Motorsports Team second and Kim Mu-jin of Waterq Elaine Racing Team third, giving Kumho Tire-equipped cars a clean sweep of the podium.

Hwang's win was particularly notable: starting from 12th on the grid, he charged through the field from the opening laps, climbing 11 positions to claim the top spot.

"Starting from 12th, I expected it to be a tough race, but going on the attack from the very beginning paid off," Hwang said. "I was able to claim my first win of the season thanks to the stable performance Kumho Tire delivered to the end, and the support of the team. I'll repay that with strong results in the remaining rounds."

The round further underscored the dominance of Kumho Tire-equipped cars, which claimed all five of the top finishing positions in the final — a marked improvement from qualifying. The race ran on a wet track following heavy rain, with drivers competing on Kumho Tire's wet-weather tire, the Ecsta W701.

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire continues to expand its global customer reach through various marketing activities, including signing an official tire partnership with Polish football club Gornik Zabrze.
