GS Engineering & Construction wins bronze, finalist honors at IDEA 2026

GS Engineering & Construction said Monday that six of its works earned recognition at the IDEA 2026 design awards, announced in the United States. The achievement marks the second consecutive year the company has won at all three of the world's top design awards.

Earlier this year, GS Engineering & Construction won four categories at the iF Design Award 2026 in February, then took the winner designation in the product design category at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 in April, establishing its design credentials in the first half of the year. The bronze win and finalist selection at IDEA 2026 complete a sweep of all three major global design competitions.

The bronze in the furniture and lighting category went to "Ignis," which had previously won at the Red Dot Design Award 2026. The product reinterprets the analog experience of lighting a candle as a contemporary lighting solution, designed so that users feel an emotional connection as they directly experience and adjust the light.

The branding category finalist honor went to the company's brand identity system (BIS), an integrated framework that goes beyond simple image guidelines to set concrete standards for applying the brand across physical spaces and various customer touchpoints. The system was recognized for translating the brand philosophy of GS Engineering & Construction's residential brand Xi — previously expressed only through symbolic elements such as logos and colors — into an operational framework that allows both internal teams and external partners to implement the brand to the same standard.

"Winning at all three of the world's top design awards for two consecutive years demonstrates that Xi has achieved global-level design competitiveness — not only in individual product design but across residential spaces and integrated brand identity systems," a company official said. "We will continue to strengthen our technology and design capabilities to deliver differentiated customer experiences."

The IDEA design awards have been organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) since 1980. The competition evaluates entries on design innovation, user benefit and social responsibility to select outstanding designs across categories, and is considered one of the world's three premier design honors alongside Germany's iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award.
