TV producer Na Young-seok named tourism ambassador for Goseong-gun in Gangwon Province

Na Young-seok, the television producer credited with pioneering South Korea's experimental variety format through shows ranging from "1 Night 2 Days" to "Ppyong Ppyong Jigu Orakshil," a variety travel show, has been named tourism ambassador for Goseong-gun in Gangwon Province.

Goseong-gun County Chief Ham Myung-jun announced Monday that he had appointed Na to promote the county's diverse attractions and enhance its public image.

One of South Korea's most prominent variety producers, Na commands wide public recognition and influence. His agency, Egg Is Coming, has established a content production space in Goseong-gun and filmed variety programs there, building a lasting connection with the county.

Goseong-gun appointed Na on the strength of that relationship, hoping to introduce the region's appeal to a broader audience in a more accessible way.

Na first drew national attention to local tourism through KBS's "Happy Sunday — 1 Night 2 Days," weaving travel destinations and regional culture from across the country into the variety format and helping bring local character to mainstream audiences.

He went on to broaden the scope of variety content with a string of shows including "Grandpas Over Flowers," "Three Meals a Day" and "Ppyong Ppyong Jigu Orakshil," each introducing new formats and creative approaches.

"I am delighted to be appointed tourism ambassador for Goseong-gun," Na said. "I will take an even greater interest in Goseong going forward and do my part to share its best qualities and charm."

Ham said he was deeply honored to have Na join as ambassador. "I hope this appointment, built on the good relationship between Goseong and Na Young-seok, becomes an opportunity to create new possibilities together," he added.
