Eunpyeong-gu in Seoul is recruiting participants for the third-quarter session of its "Smart Residential Living! Jeonse and Monthly Rent Safety Academy," a free housing education program set for Sept. 9, aimed at helping young residents avoid lease-related losses and secure safer living arrangements.
The Jeonse and Monthly Rent Safety Academy is a quarterly residential welfare program designed to give young people who lack real estate contract experience the practical information they need.
This session is timed ahead of the autumn moving season and will focus on lease contract information that participants can apply directly to their everyday lives.
The session will be led by Jeong Sam-gyo, a full-time professor at the Korea Association of Realtors and a specialist instructor in real estate, with instruction built around real-life cases.
The curriculum covers lease contract checkpoints, methods for protecting rental deposits, and how to review and analyze property rights.
The third-quarter session runs from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the health education room on the fourth floor of the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center. It is open to 30 young residents — including single-person households, first-time workers and youth preparing for independent living — and is free of charge.
Registration opens Tuesday on a first-come, first-served basis and closes Sept. 5. Applicants can sign up by phone or by scanning the QR code on promotional materials.
Eunpyeong-gu ran the Safety Academy in the first and second quarters of this year as well, helping young residents better understand lease contracts and supporting efforts to prevent housing-related harm such as jeonse fraud. The district plans to continue the quarterly sessions going forward.
"I hope this session gives young people preparing for lease contracts the information they need and helps them avoid harm," Eunpyeong-gu District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said. "We will continue to provide practical housing education to protect residents' safe living conditions and assets."
