Five more organizations join than last year as public and private sectors declare integrity commitments together; mini message cards, integrity drum and butterfly drones mark the occasion at the district office lobby on Wednesday
Gangnam-gu held the "Clean Gangnam Partners Festa" on Wednesday at the lobby of the district office's main building, launching a public-private cooperation framework to spread a culture of integrity throughout the community.
The event was organized to share Gangnam-gu's achievement of earning an "excellent" rating for three consecutive years in the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's comprehensive integrity assessment, and to announce what the district calls a "Great Transformation" integrity vision — a commitment to raising ethical standards beyond its current record.
A total of 17 organizations took part, including Gangnam-gu, Gangnam Police Station, Gangnam-gu Urban Management Corporation, Grand Korea Leisure, Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation, Gangnam-Seocho Office of Education, Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, Gangnam-gu Chamber of Commerce, Natigi, BGF Retail, Dream Office, Leaders Media, Style Delicious, Eliena Hotel, Jeil F&E (fire protection contractor), COEX, Hite Jinro and Hee & Sun. The number of participating organizations grew by five compared to last year.
Each organization jointly pledged to take part in an integrity campaign, reinforcing their commitment to clean conduct inside and outside their organizations through a formal declaration of integrity goals. Participants marked the launch of the ninth directly elected administration's integrity leadership with mini message cards, the resonant beat of an integrity drum and a display of butterfly drones symbolizing wings of hope.
The district plans to run the initiative not as a one-off declaration but as an ongoing platform for sharing integrity policies and best practices among participating organizations. It will continuously strengthen the public-private network by exchanging case studies, jointly examining corruption vulnerabilities in the community and identifying practical integrity tasks.
"The expansion to 17 participating organizations means that the practice of integrity is spreading beyond the public sector into the broader community," Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki said. "Integrity is Gangnam's competitive edge, and we will complete the great transformation toward a transparent and trusted 'integrity leader Gangnam' together with our partner organizations."
