Beginner-focused motorcycle class held at Honda Education Center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province
Honda Korea announced Monday that it has successfully concluded the Honda Welcome Class, a riding experience event for motorcycle beginners held at the Honda Education Center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The Honda Welcome Class is an education program developed as part of Honda Korea's motorcycle brand campaign "Start with Honda," designed to let first-time riders experience motorcycling without pressure and find the riding lifestyle that suits them.
Honda Korea launched the "Start with Honda" campaign this year under the slogan "the coolest and safest formula for entering the world of motorcycles," running a range of online and offline advertising, exhibition events and safety-focused riding classes.
The class was open to 12 participants with no prior motorcycle experience, selected through advance applications. Anyone holding a standard driver's license was eligible to apply, and the two-week recruitment period in June drew more than 1,000 applicants — a competition ratio of roughly 100 to 1.
To provide in-depth, tailored instruction suited to each participant's riding level, the class was divided into small groups: a scooter class and a Super Cub class. Participants completed one hour of theory and three hours of hands-on practice, covering basic motorcycle operation and fundamental riding skills.
The scooter class used Honda's flagship scooter models, the Vision and the PCX, focusing on easy, comfortable handling to lower the barrier to entry. The Super Cub class offered a distinct riding experience unique to the model — a global long-seller — with hands-on practice in automatic centrifugal gear shifting, stopping and riding.
The venue also featured a display area showcasing Honda's "Small Fun" lineup of motorcycles with engines of 125cc or under, adding a visual element to the day. All participants received a "Start with Honda" special goods package including a Honda T-shirt and cap. Honda Korea is also offering a special discount on purchases of Honda motorcycles 125cc or under made within one month of completing the course.
Meanwhile, Honda Korea recently opened a new Honda Motorcycle Service Center in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, to strengthen customer service and expand its reach.
