RESCENE's fandom Remind donates W110m to flood relief in singer Wonyi's hometown

The fandom of girl group RESCENE has donated to flood relief efforts in southern South Korea, extending the group's positive influence beyond the music world.

According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, RESCENE's fandom, known as Remind, donated 110 million won ($79,900) to support flood recovery and disaster relief in the Geoje and Tongyeong areas and other parts of the south.

The fundraising drive began after a fan learned that Geoje — the hometown of RESCENE member Wonyi, who also serves as a promotional ambassador for the city — had been hit by heavy rainfall. A total of 2,355 Remind members joined the effort, pushing the total past 100 million won in a short time.

"We hope the comfort and happiness we have found through RESCENE can reach those who are going through great hardship," the fandom said.

RESCENE also joined the effort. On Aug. 19, the group delivered a donation to Geoje in the name of Remind.

The funds will go toward flood recovery and emergency support for displaced residents in Geoje, Tongyeong and other affected areas in the south.

Meanwhile, RESCENE has firmly established itself as one of the country's top girl groups, with "LOVE ATTACK" climbing to No. 1 on music charts and "Pretty Girl" earning the group its first music broadcast win.
