'The Future of K-Sculpture Going to the World 3' released in Korean and English
Crown Haitai Confectionery announced Tuesday the release of "The Future of K-Sculpture Going to the World 3," the fourth volume in its K-Sculpture book series, as part of an ongoing project to promote Korean sculpture worldwide.
The new volume spotlights 12 leading Korean sculptors, including Park Chung-heum, Kim Ju-ho, Shin Jong-hun and Shim Seung-wook, bringing together 12 columns written by sculpture experts and serialized in a daily newspaper. While earlier volumes focused primarily on central figures in the field, this installment also covers mid-career and senior sculptors.
The book closely analyzes the philosophy and creative intent behind each artist's work, offering readers a vivid encounter with each sculptor's distinctive formal language and artistic world. QR codes embedded in each chapter link to audio and video content in which the artists explain their work in their own words.
The volume is the fourth in the K-Sculpture series, which has been published since 2023 with the goal of bringing Korean sculpture to a global audience. Across the four books, the series has covered the artistic worlds of 36 sculptors and has been recognized as a living history of contemporary Korean sculpture.
Like the third volume released last year, this edition is published simultaneously in Korean and English. The Korean-language edition will be donated free of charge to 2,000 university students majoring in sculpture, who represent the next generation of K-Sculpture. The English edition will be distributed at major overseas art museums and prominent global art fairs, including Frieze Seoul 2026 and Kiaf, both opening Thursday. It will also go on sale through global e-commerce platforms including Amazon.
Yoon Young-dal, chairman of Crown Haitai Confectionery and head of the K-Sculpture organizing committee, said Korean sculptors have built a body of work that stands at the highest international level, yet have not received sufficient recognition. "We hope that the high level of originality and artistry in K-Sculpture will gain wider recognition and continue to grow in the global market," he said.
