New hire previously served as FSC bureau chief, Hyundai Card and Hyundai Capital vice president
The Korea Federation of Banks said Tuesday it appointed Woo Sang-hyun, former vice president of BC Card, as its new executive director, following approval by the general assembly of members.
Woo holds a degree in economics from Seoul National University and a master's degree in environmental management from Yale University. He previously served as minister-counselor at South Korea's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, bureau chief at the Financial Services Commission secretariat, and vice president at both Hyundai Card and Hyundai Capital.
Under the federation's articles of association, the executive director serves a two-year term, renewable in one-year increments.
