Lotte Mart holds 'Tongkeun Day' sale through Sunday

Lotte Mart will hold its regular discount event "Tongkeun Day" from Thursday through Sunday, with expanded deals focused on fresh foods.

Hongro apples will be available for 5,960 won when paid with a promotional card. Campbell grapes will go on sale for 4,960 won per box for one day only on Friday. Zespri gold kiwis, high-sugar Shine Muscat grapes and Jeju greenhouse tangerines will also be offered at reduced prices.

Ahead of kimchi-making season, the retailer will take advance orders for salted napa cabbage and dried red pepper from Thursday through Sept. 9. Lotte Mart secured 300 tons of salted cabbage sourced from farms in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, bringing the price down to 49,900 won ($36) for 10 kilograms. Sunchang fresh dried red pepper and ground red pepper powder will also be available in the 90,000-won range. Reserved items can be picked up in store Sept. 18-19.

Paprika will be sold for 992 won per piece on Friday only. Zucchini and onions will be available at discounted prices Saturday and Sunday.

Blue crabs — a signature autumn seafood — will be discounted 20 percent when paid with a promotional card. Live abalone from Wando will receive a 20 percent discount for L.Point members, with an additional 50 percent off for promotional card payments. Fresh Norwegian salmon will be 40 percent off for L.Point members.

Beef LA-style galbi will be available for around 20,000 won per kilogram when paid with a promotional card. Beef braised galbi and Marble Nine Hanwoo sirloin will be discounted 50 percent and 40 percent, respectively, for L.Point members. Ready-to-eat meals, processed foods, beer and household goods will also be offered at up to 50 percent off, with some buy-one-get-one deals.

Lotte Mart will issue a two-coupon discount pack through its "Lotte Mart GO" app to customers who spend 50,000 won or more. The app will also run a daily random roulette event at 9 a.m. offering coupons worth up to 10,000 won.

"We have prepared a wide range of products at reasonable prices — from seasonal autumn foods to items well-suited for home cooking and outings," said Shim Yeong-jun, head of the promotional marketing team at Lotte Mart & Super.
