Samsung Electronics launches New Galaxy Book6 in South Korea, starting at W1.19m

Samsung Electronics has launched the New Galaxy Book6 in South Korea, with prices starting at 1.19 million won ($865). Weighing 1.35 kilograms and offering up to 25 hours of video playback on a single charge, the laptop is designed for portability and everyday practicality.

Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday that it is releasing the New Galaxy Book6 domestically, expanding the Galaxy Book6 series lineup.

Pricing ranges from 1.19 million won to 1.49 million won depending on the CPU, operating system and other specifications. During the launch promotion period, customers who purchase the 1.34 million won model through Samsung.com will receive benefits worth up to 180,000 won.

The New Galaxy Book6 is available in a single 35.6-centimeter (14-inch) size in gray. It can be purchased at Samsung stores and other offline retailers nationwide, as well as through Samsung.com and online marketplaces.

Samsung Electronics said the New Galaxy Book6 is equipped with the latest Intel Core Series 3 processor, providing a stable environment for everyday tasks such as studying, assignments and office work.

The laptop supports up to 25 hours of video playback on a single charge and fast charging that can reach up to 33 percent capacity in 30 minutes.

The display features a 16:10 aspect ratio with an anti-glare panel, measuring 35.6 centimeters and housed in a 1.35-kilogram body. Connectivity options include two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, HDMI, and a headphone and microphone jack.

The device also supports Galaxy AI, Samsung's suite of AI features. A standout function is AI Cut Out, which lets users select an image and quickly remove unwanted backgrounds. Users can also get real-time translations of sentences or paragraphs on web pages and open links found while browsing directly on the PC.

The laptop integrates with the Galaxy ecosystem, allowing users to connect their PC with mobile devices. Files stored on a Galaxy smartphone can be opened on the PC through shared storage, and users can move files between the PC and a Galaxy smartphone or Galaxy Tab via drag and drop.

To mark the launch, Samsung Electronics is running an early-bird program through Tuesday for customers who purchase through Samsung.com. Participants will receive early product delivery as well as 100,000 Naver Pay points. Combined with benefits for writing a review and using the in-store pickup service, total perks can reach up to 180,000 won in value. The first 300 customers to purchase through Samsung.com will also receive a 30,000-won CJ Olive Young gift voucher.

After the early-bird period, Samsung will continue a launch promotion through Sept. 22. Customers who buy during that period will receive 50,000 Naver Pay points, along with a 50,000-won CJ Olive Young gift voucher for writing a review and a 30,000-won Shinsegae gift voucher for using the in-store pickup service.

All customers who purchase during either the early-bird or launch promotion period will receive a "campus essentials package" that includes a Hancom Samsung Office Pack and a wireless numeric keypad. Customers who subscribe through the AI Subscription Club — which covers free repairs and damage compensation — will receive a 5 percent discount on the subscription fee and 5 percent membership point accrual as standard benefits.

AI Subscription Club members can also receive additional discounts: up to 5 percent off for purchasing multiple products and up to 5 percent off for prepaying part of the purchase amount. With all maximum benefits applied — including the base subscription discount, prepayment discount and affiliated card discount — the three-year plan works out to 14,630 won per month and the four-year plan to 8,990 won per month.

AI Subscription Club customers who buy during the launch promotion period will receive additional perks: up to 150,000 won in membership points, up to 100,000 Naver Pay points, and a one-year Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.
